RustFS Bucket Creation
This chapter shares how to create buckets through RustFS UI, mc
(MinIO Client), or API.
Creating Buckets
Prerequisites:
- An available RustFS instance. Refer to the Installation Guide for installation.
Creating Buckets on RustFS UI
- Log into the RustFS UI console.
- On the homepage, in the top left corner, select Create Bucket.
- Enter the bucket name and click Create to complete bucket creation.

Use the mc mb
command to create buckets:

# create rustfs bucket
mc mb rustfs/bucket-creation-by-mc
Bucket created successfully `rustfs/bucket-creation-by-mc`.
# confirm bucket creation
mc ls rustfs/bucket-creation-by-mc
Creating Buckets Using API
Use the following API to create buckets:
PUT /{bucketName} HTTP/1.1

You can confirm on the RustFS UI that the bucket-creation-by-api
bucket has been successfully created.
